Part A structural
Consideration is given to the possible requirements for load bearing items. Jacking bay poles/posts and lintels will be used where required.
Part B Fire escape
Each habitable room is required to have a suitable means of exit unless on the ground floor or with a second door to an external part of the house. All our windows are fitted, as standard, with 90 degree fire escape hinges. This allows maximum opening for a quick exit in case of emergency. If, when open, your window fails to achieve the minimum required exit aperture we will look to see if the design can be altered to accommodate a style that permits easy exit.
Part C Moisture/ingress
All seals must be suitably in place, including frame to brick and damp course.
Part F Ventilation
Rapid ventilation in habitable rooms needs to consist of 1/20th floor area of the room or greater. Design permitting, we will advise at quotation stage. New build items require a background ventilation by way of a strip/trickle vent installed into the frame or sash and allowing 8000m2 for habitable rooms and 4000m2 for other rooms.
Part L conservation of fuel and power in dwellings
Low emissivity is created using a thin coating on the glass surface which absorbs heat and reflects it back into the room. We use Pilkington K as the market leading brand which provides high light transmission whilst providing excellent energy efficiency when incorporated into our 28mm sealed units to meet and exceed current Building regulations. |
